If a tooth is damaged or decayed to the point it cannot be supported by a filling, you will likely need a dental crown to restore its function and appearance. When patients need crowns, Dr. Jeffrey D. Clark offers the added convenience of the state-of-the-art CEREC same-day crowns at his Scottsdale office.
A crown is a custom-crafted restoration made from porcelain or other durable material placed over what remains of your natural tooth. The crown restores its size, shape, and strength, and dental cement ensures it is strong and can support biting, chewing, and other functions.
Unlike traditional crowns made at a dental lab, we place CEREC crowns in a single visit with no follow-up appointments required. One appointment includes consultation, planning, tooth preparation, and crown placement!

What’s the Procedure for CEREC Same-Day Teeth in Scottsdale? The procedure for getting a CEREC crown involves the following steps:
Tooth Preparation
The first step is to clean the tooth enamel to eliminate decay and reshape the tooth so that the crown can be worn safely and comfortably.
Crown Design
Then, Dr. Clark will use CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and manufacturing) technologies to prepare your dental crown. Using an intraoral scanner, we obtain a highly accurate, mess-free impression of your dental anatomy.
Crown Manufacture
- The CEREC system uses the impression to create a 3-D CAD model of the specific tooth. Using that CAD model, the system uses CAM technology (our in-office milling unit) to create a ceramic dental crown from a single porcelain block.
The entire milling process takes only 30 minutes, and all you have to do is sit back and relax. Once the crown is completed, Dr. Clark will affix it to your tooth, and you can leave our office that day with your beautiful, natural-looking crown securely in place.
Testimonial

Dental Bridges
A fixed dental bridge is an effective way to restore a smile marred by teeth missing due to dental damage, tooth decay, and gum disease. This method fills the gap between the remaining teeth and prevents them from shifting out of position. Your custom-crafted bridge completes your smile, restores chewing function, and supports facial contours to avoid sagging and maintain a more youthful appearance.
Dental Inlays and Onlays
Getting an inlay or onlay is similar to having a crown placed. The important distinction is that an inlay or onlay requires much less of your natural tooth to be removed by drilling.
With a traditional crown, the entire tooth must be reshaped to fit inside the new covering. That makes inlays and onlays preferable since the dentist can preserve as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. This is considered a conservative way to restore a tooth’s appearance.
